We signed our contract a week ago, and received the counter-signed copy back in the email today. After reading the contract, I’ve noticed a few errors from the developer’s solicitor, but they’re minor and won’t affect us, so I reported them and moved on.
The contract signing process was quite easy, the developers (Cedar Woods) have opted for the DocuSign system, which allows both parties to sign electronically after following links to online documents. First me, then Judith, then a Cedar Woods representative. The whole thing went down within a couple of days.
The contract specifies a deposit amount and time period for paying it, but (surprisingly), no-one seems in a hurry to collect it. I’m still waiting on bank details so I can get that money to them. Better in my account than theirs, I guess!
So, we are on the way to being proud owners of an elevated bush-facing block. We’ve been told that practical completion is currently expected to be achieved on 22nd December and titles are expected to be received in December 2021. We’ll just go with the flow.

Update: We got the bank details for the land company’s settlement agent, so all good – the deposit’s paid and we’re locked in Eddie.
