Titles, Settlement

The land vendors (Cedar woods Properties) had a special on settlement agencies at the time we put the deposit down. It seemed a good deal, and we hade previously used Vicki Philipoff settlement before when we sold an investment property a few years ago. They were good then, so we went with the deal.

They were good then and they haven’t changed – very professional, no fuss and very communicative. They also provided an app – great for the likes of me – called Pexa, which kept us informed with little snippets that appeared on my phone from time to time. Today, it informed me that settlement will take place – that time where titles and funds are swapped in the ether and we get a piece of paper that tells us where we can put our fences. Above is depicted the first settlement, when Captain (later Admiral) Phillips conducted the first Australian settlement transaction, transferring Land Title of an entire continent to King George III. I bet he didn’t pay as much as us. But hey, I got an app – he didn’t even have a phone, which probably made him mad.

I took the current monarch of our block up to see her land the other day. The roads are all done and there are pleny of ‘slow points’ which will hopefully encourage smooth and quiet driving. That’s her in the royal carriage, if you look closely you can just see her waving. I’m going to have three fizzy celebrations – the first will be after settlement (Pommery Blanc de Blanc, NV), the second after house build (Moet et Chandon Vintage 2002) and the third during a housewarming party (Victoria Bitter or cheaper).

That you write ‘Victoria Bitter’ instead of ‘Vic Bitter’ is a pretty good indicator of the level of esteem you have for it. To me, it demonstrates a formal and distant relationship… no camaraderie there.
Personally, I never drink the stuff… they don’t sell it at Aldi.

Welcome back @MyLupineFriend. Have you seen this clock for sale, I am sure your she-wolf would get you this for a special event – maybe your 60th? It is a kwality piece because the description says it has been “Accurately hand-crafted in resin”, and has a numbered certificate. Must be legit. How can you walk past those “hanging VB stubbie weights?”
